Our Story
Umoya Records is the African soul of Kiljayden Music Group — an independent label born in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, rooted in the musical heritage of South Africa. A decade of musical vision finally given form.
The name Umoya is Zulu and Xhosa for spirit, wind, and breath. It is the invisible force that moves between worlds — between the ancient and the electronic, between the savannah and the dancefloor, between the ancestors and the future.
Ten years of listening, absorbing, and waiting for the right moment. 2026 was that moment. Every track in our catalogue is built on real African language, real cosmology, and real cultural weight — not approximation, not imitation. The spirit is the sound.
